Tonglu night holds a magic for those who dare to venture out and brave the subzero temperature in the biting winds. A thousand stars come out and one actually feels what is meant by the term 'starlight.'
The best time to catch such a clear sky is winter .. especially mid November to mid february.
The spectacle is magnified a hundred times if the night happens to be a new moon.
In this shot one can see the beautiful Orion and the red tinge of M42 (the Orion Nebula)! (Thanks to BMukherjee for the info on the M42)

Amazing capture of the night view...Hard to find such a picture(its the exact replica that can be seen with normal eyes, but tough to caprure in lens)...The red roof makes it picture perfect...Keep posting.

really I can feel what you write in your note. I also spend two nights at the same place and one of them was this type starry. You captured it nicely with full light of stars! Great shot indeed. Thanks for sharing and also thanks for your valuable critique on my last post. Yes I think you are right partially, it should be less sharpened, but I increased the saturation only +2. And I think it is not over saturated. Again thanks.
A question- I had only the experience to trek sandakphu - phalut - gorkhey, and have intention to trek Goechala. Can I do it? What would be best time for me?
