Photographer's Note
this shot was taken in tonglu(3036 mts absl),a small nondescript village of 3 houses and a trekker's hut.this lies on the trekking route to sandakphu. the extreme right pillar is the india-nepal border pillar while the remaining ones are chortens.i am actually standing inside nepal.the 3rd highest peak in the world, kanchenjunga,is in the background.
shot with kodak chroma and digitalised from a negative.regret the bad quality.

Hi Dwaipayan,
This is a very beautiful shot, the light across those pillars creates an excellent mood, and you cpatured brilliant depth leading off to the mountain. Even the sky is like a work of art! Really nicely done.

Hello Dwaipayan
I agree with Noel. There is a beautiful light captured on the faces of these pillars, and the sight of the mountains towering on the horizon under that breathtaking sky is superb - what a great sense of wide open spaces there is in this picture. The quality is quite good, perfectly adequate for this shot, although of course there is some detail lacking in the shadows. But the pillars look beautiful anyway. Well done, and a good note.

Andrew

Namaste Dwaipayan
Wonderful scenic capture of this magnificent high altitude picture with the glimspe of the Grand Mother Nature pretty visible in the background. Having more of the fantastic vast wide open sky is justified indeed while the structures guide and balance into the scene. This shot is blessed by such subtle light, colors and shadows turning this to a remarkable shot. My congrats.
Tx to the useful notes and your reply is well noted

Hi Dwaipayan
another very different photo from your gallery.
its cool to think that you actually took this from Nepal, then you can easily step back into India :)
Personally, I really enjoy the wide angle look here, and the large sky with the clouds and mountains in the bg.
well done indeed.
cheers

Hello Dwaipayan,
I like how you have been able to capture the light on these pillars, from gold, through silver to black. It gives them a very 3D effect and they make a, good lead into the depths of the shot where we see the distant, snow-covered mountains.
The sky is just glorious.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Dwaipayan,
the pillars are very attractive and interesting, light and shadow define them in a fine and effective way. There are different degrees of brightness and darkness and this gives great interest to the elements in the foreground. The distant view is mesmerising and the ample space you gave to the moody sky was an excellent choice. There's a superb sense of vastness and isolation and the meaning of borders is challenged by the simplicity of this site and the awe inspired by the scenery and the atmosphere. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great day,
Ourania

Hi Dwaipayan,
The quality is not the best, there some high noise level, but I love the mood the the feeling of remoteness. There is a sense of solitude and nostalgic feeling that moves me deeply.

Hi Dwaipayan,
You're capturing well this place by a good angle and excellent tone, so it's interesting and impressive to see the pillar's border between India and Nepal. Here seems to very peacefil place surrounded the rich nature. And, Himalayas of backdrop draws out a secial good atmosphere.
Kind regards,
