Photographer's Note

Ladakh has a very rare and unique landscape gifted to it. As we were crossing Namika La, it was a gift for us that the whole valley is visible clearly and not hidden by low flying clouds fogs but with a sharp afternoon sunlight. The place did not feel a bit like earth if the road built by humans was not there. Wish i can a make a revisit soon to this Mars on earth.

Namika La or Namika Pass (el. 3,700 m (12,139 ft)), Pillar of the Sky Pass[1], is a high mountain pass in the Himalayas Zanskar Range[1] in India along the Srinagar-Leh highway highway at 3422′ N 7635′ E[2].

Namika La is one of two high passes between Kargil and Leh, the other is the even higher Fotu La Pass.
