Photographer's Note

I, along with many others, fondly refer Mt. Kanchenjunga as Mt. 'K'. It was time for me to head for the hills of Garhwal, where Mt. Chowkhamba looms against the ultramarine blue sky, dwarfing the other peaks in magnitude. Thought it was time I gave an identical name to my newly found love!!

This shot was taken on the way to Tunganath, the highest amongst the five Kedars. Tunganath can be reached from Chopta(the nearest roadhead), by a short but wonderful trek of 4km. The view of the Garhwal Himalayan peaks accompanis the trekker throughout the journey...a view which easily makes you forget the pains of the trek.
