Photographer's Note

Located between the Western Ghats Mountains and the Arabian Sea, Kerala is an enchanting mosaic of coconut groves and paddy fields, open beaches, labyrinthine backwaters, verdant hills and monsoon forests.

Enrich the cultural variety of the three religions, whose seeds germinate here in the past. Hinduism, the majority religion, is practiced with a single vein to the rigor that no entry to Hindu temples. Christianity, the creed of a quarter of the population, comes here from the hand of the apostle St. Thomas, lie that Islam was introduced by Arab traders in the seventh century.

The oxen are much loved animals and also very necessary, it is surprising how many of them are doing work for man, one of the most common animal as well to pull carts loaded with people and goods.

Ubicada entre los montes Ghates occidentales y el mar Arabigo, Kerala es un encantador mosaico de campos de cocoteros y arrozales, playas abiertas y laberinticos brazos de mar, verdes colinas y bosques monz髇icos.

Enriquecen su variedad cultural las tres religiones, cuyas semillas germinaron aqu� en el pasado. El hinduismo, la religi髇 mayoritaria, se practica con un singular rigor que veta a los no hinduistas la entrada a los templos. El cristianismo, credo de una cuarta parte de la poblaci髇, llega hasta aqu� de la mano del ap髎tol santo Tomas, mientas que el islam fue introducido por los comerciantes 醨abes en el siglo VII.

Los bueyes son animales muy queridos y tambi閚 muy necesarios, es sorprendente la cantidad de ellos que se ven realizando trabajos para el hombre, uno de los mas habituales como animal para tirar de carretas bien cargadas con personas y mercanc韆s.

Hola apreciado Luis, me gusta esta estupenda foto de esta interesante escena cotidiana de este pais de fuertes contrastes, por otra parte con la edad que tengo esta escena la he visto en nuestro pais con animales de color y cuernos diferentes. Esta es una excelente foto tecnicamente perfecta y de mucha calidad, maravilloso trabajo excelentemente realizado. Tfs.

Hola Luis,
esta escena de la vida cotidiana en la India es totalmente intemporal, tiene casi cinco a駉s pero podr韆s haberla tomado ayer mismo.
Me gusta la espontaneidad y la vida que vemos en la composici髇, con el carro tirado por la pareja de bueyes, la bonita luz, y las sombras proyectadas sobre el suelo.
Hiciste un buen trabajo, muy directo y humano, apartado de la t韕ica postal, y m醩 cercano al fotoperiodismo.
Excelente!!

I love such oxen carts. it is such an enchanting view. and they have painted horns. When I was in South I ndia they told me that it was because of elections. But I do not know if it is truth. Very nice shot from kerala, maybe the most beautiful scenery in India there.

Love the luminousity of this shot as well as the framing works with some nice colors making this ox carriage dominating the view in wonderful detail. That little somethings, the chaotic feel to the backdrop are additional interest in this well composed shot. A great street scene, a slice of local life well recorded. Congrats
