A smile, a photo from Goa, West

Photographer's Note

A smile to wish everybody, A GOOD AND HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Fortunately, even poverty cannot wipe a smile off of someone's face.

I was walking in Panjim, Goa's capital, when I saw that man (probably coming from Karnataka) loading stuff out from the rickshaw. He gave me such a beautiful smile that I couldn t resist to smile back to him then to photography him.

yes....thats a very soothing take. well, this is India. laughter amidst poverty! i guess the man is from bihar and not from karnataka.

That is a good smile, I like the picture
I think if you crop the picture geting rid of the hands on the wright the picture will look much better i.e. crop next to the back of the guy and a bit on the top to keep the aspect retio.

That's a nice story. The smile makes the picture. Even the ragged clothes don't take away the feeling a person gan give with a smile. Happy New Year

Isn't it amazing how some people can keep the smile on their face despite all the hardships. I guess we all have a lessson to learn from this. I agree with Samrat, he looks more like a labourer from Bihar, though he would be a long way away from home.

Yes the smile is beautiful, but how can you guess that he's from Karnataka? Slightly off-centre compo would have perhaps been more classical, but as it is I like the picture

everyone i met in india and nepal and so many poor areas all smile and are quite secure in their insecurity..nothing to lose..perhaps
