Photographer's Note

Salaries being generally higher than in neighboring states, many people come to work in Goa, due to their extreme poverty.
People, mostly coming from karnataka, but also from other regions like Maharashtra, Gujarat etc...

You should set up a theme for your workers photos. This would be another fine addition. The light looks brutal but you managed it well. I like the way you have eye-contact with him. I think a tight crop on the left might be beneficial to de-centralise him more. Nevertheless it's a good portrait.

Yes, poverty was one of the things that impressed me in India and unfortunately, it was very noticeable everywhere in every places I visited. The lighting was dificult, but the result is quite good. I like the fact that he is interacting with your camera - not a smile here either and I can understand why - he has a tired look. Very good portrait, Marilyn.

Juste de retour du Vietnam je fais un petit tour par ta galerie. La lumiere a l'air bien pesante sur les epaules de ct homme. Belle prise refletant bien ce que cet homme est en train de vivre. A+

On voit pas souvent des photos de travailleurs sur TE, surtout en train de faire une petite pose et regardant vers l'objectif. Cette photo se distigue donc. Tr鑣 bon portrait, on sent un peu de fatigue et le manque d'閜anouissement dans son regard.

The light is really harsh, but you managed the same well. I would have liked you to crop the left for an off centre compo. That's a very tired look he's given you. A good addition to your theme on Workers
