Bonsoir Daniel

Daniel: caught at 'the' moment when the water still hasn't returned to the river from her face - for that very special reason, a great image. regards, c

Fabulous - looks like a moment of real bliss.
The reflections in the water add to the magic and the dof is used to great effect.
An excellent portrait

this photo scores maximum in my S.A.S. test. not, not the Special Air Service :) S.A.S. stands for "subject, attention and simplification".
1. subject - for any photo to tell a story it needs an immediately recognisable subject. this photo obviously has it - the woman. for a photo to be a really GOOD and captivating, the subject should be something more that simply the biggest or the most central element of the photo. it has to be a symbol of a notion, a feeling. again, this photo has it - even without the title and the note it's clear that the photo shows pure belief, total devotion to the ritual.
2. attention - the way the attention of the viewer is focused on the main subject. in this case the viewer has no choice but to look at the woman, she's in the very center and the rest of the photo is out of focus. nowhere else to look. perfect. on top of that, you LIKE looking at her :) not only the colours and light are inviting, but the perfectly frozen movement makes you feel that if you look really close you'll see the water actually dripping and her eyes opening. so you look. and look. and then look some more.
3. simplification - in addition to helping the viewer focus on the subject, the photo should not contain anything that distracts from it, basically meaning that the photographer has eliminated everything that does not directly contribute to the story of the photo. again, this photo is a good example of leaving only the neccessary in. you don't see other people, you don't see the banks of the river or anything else. just the woman and the water, nothing else.simple and perfect.
finally, I just hope one day I learn to take photos according to what I just wrote :)
best,
Kristine

Bonsoir Daniel,
Admirable travail ici! Merci bien! Salut,
Angel.

Excellent work, perfect timing, and good location. The capture of the water in all areas is nicely done. The colorful reflections in the water is a nice touch.

A serene moment captured, the water frozen on her face. I like the POV the passign flowers givign a feelign of motion. i am not sure about the pinkish frame though.
