Photographer's Note
At low tide people come to collect shells for lunch or dinner.
Seafood forms is an important part of the Goan diet as it is high in protein.
Here is a recipe : Fried clams in shells
100 large clams
¼ tsp.salt
1 tsp. Chilli powder
¼ tsp. Tumeric powder
2 tbsps.rice flour or semolina oil
Preparation :
Wash the clams well, slit them open keeping the flesh on one shell discarding the empty shells.
Mix salt, chilli and tumeric powders and sprinkle over clams.
Allow to stand for half an hour. Sprinkle flour on each clam and fry them in hot oil.
Keep the flame low until the clams are fried. Turn and remove from the pan.
Hope you like it...

Hello Marilyn,
I like th image as there seems to be something else going on to the right of the immediate scene. The photo not only shows the bags of clams, but has other properties that make the image interesting.
Clams sounds awfully good here real soon,

Bonjour Marilyn,
Bonne journee,
Jean-yves

Olá Marilyn, that's a nice original note :) Good daily life capture of the 4 ladies collecting shells. It seems that something captured their attention to the right...I wonder if someone else found a better spot with bigger shells :)
The light is beautiful and the moment is interesting.

Hi Marilyn,
I like this moment of daily life and it is interesting that they pay to anything unknown outside the capture their attention. As I like seafood, it sounds tasty, never had indian seafood before.

Hello Marylin,
It would be difficult to guess (Although I can see some clams now )whatever they were doing if there were no note. All women are looking in one direction, as if someome has yelled from there. Nice lateral light and pretty colors.
Friendly yours - Izzet

Hi Marilyn,
Ciao!

Thanks for the recipe. It will be worth trying it someday. I like your picture because of the simple subject. The women seem a bit distracted by something creating a natural and casual scene. Well composed Marilyn.

Bonjour Marilyn

TFS,
Cath.

Hi Marilyn. Looking at an old post I liked the daily life shot of Goaneese. The placement of two relatively younger ladies on the left with soft sunrays falling on the basket is very well composed. I remember a tongue twister which we used to play during our childhood : "She sells seashells on sea shore". It was a lot of fun. You can try. I can also try the recipe if I get some clams someday! Regards.
Partha
