Photographer's Note
Pura Dalem Agung Padangtegal, or Padangtegal Great Temple of Death, is one of three Hindu temples making up a temple complex located in the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary commonly called the "Ubud Monkey Forest" of Padangtegal, Ubud, Bali, Indonesia.
Also called the "Main Temple" Pura Dalem Agung Padangtegal lies in the southwestern part of the Ubud Monkey Forest grounds and is used for worshipping the god Hyang Widhi in the personification of Shiva, the Recycler or Transformer. Like the other two temples in the complex, it is thought to have been built around 1350. The temple complex plays an important role in the spiritual life of the local community. The area in front of the temple is the home territory of one of the Ubud Monkey Forest's five groups of crab-eating macaques.
The Monkey Forest in Ubud is a wonderful place for nature lovers, like me, with the mixture of local culture, interesting fauna and amazing flora. it seems that no one from TE community visited this place.
When you saw this picture and two Workshops in the large format, clicking and looking at it in the new tab, you will see many monkeys.

Hi Malgo,
The trees are framing well the temple. The point of view is showing the details of the Padanglegal Great Temple of Death. The cloudy sk or haze does not hurt the colours output. Staying home, is giving me plenty of time to adjust my different albums of photos on Flickr also following the directive of the Health ministry. Have a nice day.

Hello Malgo,
I visited a park with temples and a lot of monkeys that turned aggressive if they were not fed with peanuts. Not much fun. I don't remember the name of the place and I'm too lazy to check my diary, but I don't think it was in Ubud. But it probably looked similar to this. Beautiful temples and very nice surroundings, which we can see in all of today's photos.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello Malgo, I don’t know whether I would feel comfortable walking here with monkeys roaming freely.
Three interesting pictures.
The site has a claustrophobic feel with the trees towering above the temple complex.
Thanks for sharing, regards Jean.

Ciekawa prezentacja
pozdrawiam

Hello Malgo,
A magnificent inner yard of the temple, no monkeys around though...
Wonder how come there were no people around, enable a view with no interruption.
Have a nice new day,
Ike

Hi Malgorzata
A decent capture of the temple complex - seeing portion of the whole thing with best attention to detail and sensibly exposed with sense of depth. Well done

Hello Malgo,
Ubud one of the towns with the most temples in Bali, ideal the perspective of this with the patio and the various pavilions, the wall of trees as a background, adds beauty to the composition.
I try to take care of myself Malgo, with the measures of confinement in the house, I only go out one day a week to the supermarket, equipped with a mask and gloves. Alcala is the same as Madrid city.
Sharpness, lighting, color, and the magnificent composition; they are all perfectly made factors, in this beautiful image.
Well done. I like very much.
You have a good day.
Very best regards.
Luis.

Hello, i had only a small pocket camera and a smartphone so my photos will never be super sharp like the ones of most of Te members. This temple is nestled in a luxuriant tropical forest. It consists in a courtyard, a wooden pavillion and temple made in stones. Fine colors, good sharpness, interesting photo note, regards.

Hi Malgo
Missed this one. I only remember the aggressive monkeys in Ubud and booking tours all over the island. It was a far more pleasant place to stay than Kuta / Legian. I saved Lombok and the Gili Islands for swimming. Saw a sea snake too at Gili Trawangan which unnerved me as I was snorkelling close by. I can see 2 monkeys at left. Now Indonesia is struggling with massive Covid19 infections and lots of people are dying. I hope the Australian government sends them lots of emergency medical supplies. Tfs!
