Photographer's Note
** Repost of the photo with a better quality scan. The original was a low res scan from print and this is a high res scan from the negative. The tone of the image is also a little less harsh. I hope you like the improvement. **
This photograph is of two young Kyrgyz children standing in front of a yurt enjoying the last rays of the day's sunshine. They are at the summer pastures near the shores of Lake Song-Kul.
This is one of the most beautiful areas of the country. It is possible to stay in a yurt with a herding family and walk into the hills or go horse riding by the lake. If you are very brave you could also go swimming in the cold waters.
This is a companion photo to Two Yurts which I posted a few days ago.

Hi Jonathan, seeing your name in the gallery, reminded me of this one, that I had seen come by, but had no time to rate it.
The light is really beautiful, golden and soft, it makes the colours so warm. I like the difference between the kids, one smiling and the other quite scared. The very big coat is rather nice.
I like the dark blue traingle in the upper corner.

Jonathan,
Great late light falling on these kids - really warm, but I bet it is not. Great colours you have produced. Fantastic scan!
