Photographer's Note

This traditional sail canoe gliding gently on a great Irrawaddy river, seemed to be from another era. I was humbled by the serenity, simplicity and almost silent that surrounded me.
Being part of the setting, this mode of transport plays a significant role for river crossing by villagers living nearby.

Taken from a moving ferry boat somewhere after leaving Sagaing, Mandalay Div

Setting: 300 mm, 1/400 sec, F6.3, ISO Raw 200, 0701 hrs

I was also thinking that this looked a bit like the Nile River. The weathered old sailboat resembles a felucca. Good colour and sharpness with nice repetition of the palms. Tfs!

Hello Abmdsudi, an excellent composition where you have left adequate space for the boat to sail into. I like the way that the sunlight is highlighting the sail.
