Photographer's Note

Bell is one of sacred objects and second only in importance to Buddha images as donations to a pagoda. They are struck usually with a wooden mallet and great importance is placed on the sound. The bell is rung
by worshipers after making their devotions to Buddha and each strike symbolically eradicates impurities, purifies the holy place and at the same time protect a person from spell or evil spirit...

Taken at one of many shrines in Shwezigon Pagoda complex, Nyaung U.

Setting: 31 mm, 1/80 sec, F18, ISO Raw 200, 0707 hrs

Hello Abmdsudi,

Thank you for the explanatory notes, they make the photograph even more interesting.

I like how well you have used the repeating uprights and the glimpses of the bells. With each one showing the effects of sunshine and shadows, as well as a fine linear perspective, the photograph really grabs our attention.
The figure at the end is not essential but does add extra human interest.

Hello Abmdsudi,
A great photo of these large bells hanging in between the thick walls. The sunlight was perfect and highlighted the warm colours so well. You chose an excellent angle and the textures are particularly well visible.
