Photographer's Note
Please forgive me the low quality, but it was the only photo I found that is vaguely appropriate for this festive season.
When I arrived in Nepal in November 1994, they were celebrating the Newari New Year, along with the Hindu festival of Diwali. They were also in the middle of an election campaign (if I am not mistaken, the penultimate democratic elections before the assassination of the former King and the end of an ephemeral 'democratic' period). The oldest part of Kathmandu looked like a crowded fair.
In WS's: a kind of amulet made by a street astrologist and a political demonstration.
Happy New Year!
See you next year. :-)

Hi Jose!
Great choice for a new year's card. How many people do you think have a photo actually appropriate and specific for a celebration as arbitrary as the new year's eve?...
Hey, this is from Nepal... I remember your first shots were some Nepalese mountain landscapes :) Also scans, I guess they're from the same trip.
Happy New Year!

Olá José,
with this amount of wishes for a New Year in so many languages there is each grant given :-)
I am only astonished that wishes for the new year had been published in early November. Must be a very different coubnting by this culture.
A Happy New Year to you and yours, Feliz Ano Novo
Um abraço, Ulf

Great multilingual "greeting card" !

Amicalement,
Delphine

Jose,
the digital quality on this one is certainly no the major thing. This shot is all about the wishes that you have for all of us and that is extremely well expressed through this shot. There are only three languages that I'm really able to read. What are all the other languages?
Cheers, peter
