Photographer's Note
A young woman stops to txt someone on her phone. Its such a common sight these days, its hard to believe that only ten years ago this would have been a rare seen. I like the composition with the lights and modern architecture in the background. taken from Fort Santiago.

Bonjour Chris
Une belle présentation de ces immeubles colorés qui sont assez esthétiques. La présence de la jeune fille donne de l'animation à la scène et ajoute une nouvelle couleur.
Bonne journée.

Hi Chris
yes, an almost comical scene.
and you couldn't have picked a better subject than a woman wearing a white and red stripped shirt too! haha
everything in the bg is so block-like, lego-land style.
i really like the scene as a whole.
and you're so correct about texting these days.
but with technology changing so rapidly every year, and social media changing every month, its unimagineable to think what the world will be like in 20 years.
in all honesty, i think this texting thing will become extinct like the dinosaurs. not because its not popular, but only because something new and more creative will come along. It will make people say, remember when we used to TEXT to eachother!!!
heck, it was only 15 years ago when it was viewed upon as COOL and HIP to have a pager!!!!!!!!!!
a pager! they're hardly used anymore.
Just as the phonebook and yellowpages have become basically extinct, so will texting in the years to come. We'll have glasses that have a built in video screen thats eye sensitive and we can 'interact' in someway with it, and it'll have computer chips etc.....
I've already seen on the market, Iphone style watches now, basically its an Iphone you wear on your wrist.
Oh the future will be different for sure!!
thanks for the cool photo - speaking of which - what will happen to the photography world in 20years!
cheers

Hello Chris,
The repeating verticals of the skyscrapers and the lampposts make a very imposing b/g. The buildings appear to have horizontal stripes so it is a most fortunate co-incidence that your focal figure is dressed likewise. She is strongly positioned and really stands out in her shocking pink, striped top, which also links nicely with the b/g.
Texting is something is experienced regularly. The texters are completely oblivious of their surroundings! I can see its use for emergencies, not foe idle chit chat!
Have a great w/e,
Bev :-)

Hi Chris
The horizontal orange stripes in the mid-ground contrast well against the blue squares and rectangles of the bg highrise buildings. Good sharpness and saturation & the fg woman texting animates the scene. Perspective and framing have been well managed. Tfs!

The young lady is well placed in the frame to add human interest without intruding upon the graphic shaped buildings in the BG.
Very nicely done.

Hello Chris,
This has been very well seen! The young woman's stripy T-shirt really stands out. She is placed in a good position in the frame and I like the modern buildings behind. The colourful boat also draws attention.
A very enjoyable image.
Kind Regards, Ann

Hi Chris,
Excellent urban shot, I like the composition with this young woman in the foreground. She is so concentrated tht she doesn't see you freezing the instant. Nice light that enhances the colours.
Regards,
Delphine
