Photographer's Note

Inside the New Tretyakov Gallery there is an area for the Stalin age and a kind of communist art named "Socialist Realism" in evidence between 1932 to 1988.It was the oficial style of the government and the artists who didn't use the rules were persecuted.
According with the rules que artwork should be important and understandable by the proletarian people, should have typical scenes of daily life of people, it should be realistic and give support to the aims of the state and the communist party.
Here we have a big canvas named "Stalin and Kliment in the Kremlin" created in 1938 by Aleksander Gerassimov. They are strolling in the top of the ramparts after the rain, Kliment was a military chief of the country. The statues around show us a worker of a steel industry, in FG we have a shepherd. I guess it was funny that ballerina at side of Stalin, surrounded by all these rude men.
