Photographer's Note

This picture of the Malka River valley was taken from the road from Kislovodsk to Elbrus National Park. The road is seen at the top-left corner of the picture. It runs exactly along the watershed between the Malka (the Caspian Sea basin) and the Kuban (the Sea of Azov basin). Administratively the territory in the picture belongs to Zolsky District of Kabardino-Balkar Republic.

Hello Sergiy,
The flanks of this canyon formed by the Malka river are overall beautifully green, even partially wooded.
Your chosen POV on a hilltop gives us a very far reaching view over lots of other hilltops.
The inclusion of the winding road at the upper left corner helps to get a good sense of scale.

The road must have breathtaking views of this green landscape formed by mountains and deep valleys and gorges
You chose a good pov to stop and take the capture with no people or adification at all

What incredibly rugged country! And I note the foto was shot in July, the middle of summer, and there is still much green, so I infer that there is sufficient rainfall.
