Photographer's Note

This is the first climb from the Emmanuelle's Glade (named after the Russian infantry general Emmanuelle, who headed the first ascent to the top of the Mount Elbrus in 1829) to the Palnbashi Pass. As it is shown in the picture, at this place equestrian tourists have a definite advantage over cyclists.

Old versus new form of transport portrayed here nicely side by side. I am sure on the upwards journey the horse is the better means of transport, but for the downwards trip I would definitely prefer the bike.
The mountains look quite impressive, if barren, to me too.

My first idea was that this was an encounter of totally different kinds of culture, now I see it's just an encounter of different kinds of tourists. It is still a fine picture from a rugged but beautiful part of the world. The colours are exceptionally good and you have handled the light very well.

A good contrast between these two different ways of transport. It seems like the horses have some advantage here versus the bikes, with these special road conditions. An impressive landscape and a very well taken picture.

Hi Segiy,
This is a great capture with the horse-riders giving an atmosphere of "Westerns", or should I say "Easterns" ? Indeed the inclusion of both horse-riders and cyclists is very interesting.
I like the attitude of the cyclist. "Too easy for you", he is thinking :-) But at the same time, he is enjoying the sight.

Good composition of two type of transportation: on horse by a local people and on bicycle by a tourists.
I think even on the mountains' bicycle was not easy to climb to the top.
Good daily life shot with mountains surrounding. Well done photo.
