Photographer's Note
Galle Railway Station located in the southern city of Galle in Sri Lanka. Owned by Sri Lanka Railways, the state-run railway operator, and is part of the Coast Line, which links Sri Lanka's south coast with the Colombo.
Galle station is an example of Modernism. The station conforms to the International Style, and uses concrete massing to create a geometric form. The portion of the building that houses the platforms is of a different, more utilitarian design. This features a metal structure that only covers the platforms, but not the trains.
Above the train we can see St. Mary's Cathedral.

Hi Zbigniew,I couldn't visit this city on my 1994 tour when it was a very dangerous area and there was a war between the state and the Tamils, so your post is even more useful, nice capture of the old train at Galle station with quality excellent as always. Have a nice weekend and thanks,Luciano

cześć Zbyszek, Ja jestem fanem kolei więc ciekawe zobaczyć kolej na Sri Lance. Ładne wieże katedry nad wagonem. Pojechałabym na Sri Lankę...
Pozdrawiam serdecznie
