Photographer's Note
The monsoon rain which turned Bangkok's street into river in the past few days certainly was much more heavier then the flooding seen in this photograph taken at Charoen Krung in front of the Robinson Department Store near to the Chao Phraya river. That Saturday it was pouring down suddenly and there was some flooding, bad enough the bring the traffic to a standstill. Such flooding may happen from time to time but after some hours the water will be gone. However the rain has been so heavily lately that some of the main streets in Bangkok have been flooded for more then 24 hours courtesy of global warming.

Hello Urs,
As long as it doesn't get worse than this it is nice refreshment for warm feet..!
But of course too much water is always trouble...
This is a fine documentary, that is describing the situation very well, I notice this was September so I guess you survived!
Greetings,

Olá Urs, funny image of daily life with people literaly walking on water to cross a street. Funny for me that was never in this kind of situations and also knowing that this wasn't a major flood but a normal one that happens a lot in that part of the planet. I can feel the very hot and humid temperatures. Excellent dynamic capture in a nice busy composition with lots of details to observe wherever I look.
best regards,
ricardo

Hi Urs. As you have said earlier, the flood is everywhere. You have depicted the situation very well and the scene is undoubtedly Bangkok. Great clarity and exposed details. Thanks for sharing and best regards.

Bonjour Urs,
j'ai choisi cette photo intéressante. Ici, les inondations sont plutôt rares dans nos villes.
Bon dimanche.

Namaste Urs,
a real life picture. It is very common in so many Indian towns. The only difference is the zebra crossing, which is vanished under the layer of water! The streets flooded in every monsoon. Nice composition here with nice point of view. Light and sharpness is great. Thank you to present this face of town.
Regards
Subhendu
