Photographer's Note
The markets in Thailand are full of unknown(to non Thais)products... bamboo shoots are quite popular in the west, banana flowers is less known though, they can be eaten raw after removing the red skin around them, they taste very good, they also can be cooked...
Not a very special photo, but i liked the colors of it...
Hope you like it too...

This is a good close up shot - good colours and all round sharpness.
I feel that there's too much detail in the photo though, and would suggest cropping the left hand side as the ends of the bamboo shoots are a little overexposed. The green shoots in the far left add a nice bit of contrast as well!

It's a lovelt collection of colours and shapes, Laurent. I too take quite a few pictures of fruit and things in the markets, but I never post them because they get ignored here. Anyway, I like this one very much. The babana flower makes a lovley salad!

Salut Laurent,
I think it's a special photo! I love this original series of yours, as you know, which teach us about the world and give such interesting abstract images. May be it would be even better to put a wider view to comlement, but this is just fine and very well composed. I like the shapes and colors and the whole set is great. Just continue to deliever more like this one!
Amitiés,
Ricardo

Bien cordialement,
Emmanuel

Banana flour is eaten raw as a condiment since it is tardy. The flour is cutted across in small pieces and added to the soup or some meals. It must go with other herbs.
The bamboo shoots are eaten cooked. It is tough and has a wonderful aroma. So it is generally added in a stew or a soup. In Thailand, you can find it in the sour soup and is excellent. The Vietnamese put them in fish stew and it is wonderful.
Thank you for sharing,
Kiet
