As we explored Hoi An in the rain we came across the Assembly Hall of the Fujian Chinese Congregation. It is a temple to worship a deity born in Fujian.
There is lots of ornate Chinese decoration and the workshop shows some from a closer viewpoint.

Interesting architecture with these roofs, well framed with pleasant garden, good light even the weather was rainy, photogenic brightness with wet ground, tfs.

I did not know that there is still such a strong Chinese cultural influence in Vietnam. A great greenish scene with a typical temple gate, even wet weather condition nicely contributes to the frame. TFS!!!

Hello Ian, beautiful view of this richly decorated Chinese gate in the rain. Here like in China, the flowers are in pots. Good inclusion of the guy in yellow raincoat.

At last a building I clearly remember, although I saw it in a much nicer weather. But the rain and grey clouds actually seem to enhance the colours. Or maybe it's the yellow raincoat that enhances the entire picture. But the trees and plants also look like they are refreshed by the rain.

Hi Ian.

I remember this temple. They wanted a $5 entry fee. So I just took a shot of the gate from the street. I believe it is free again these days. They also put a $5 fee on the street outside but shopkeepers complained business slumped so all fees were removed. Tfs!

Hello Ian,
You were unlucky with this dreary rainy weather when you visited this remarkable place.
Fortunately, the man in his bright yellow raincoat reminds us of the yellow of the sun, so hidden here among all the greenery of the roofs and the bushes.

This is such a well composed photograph, full of natural greenery, an ornate building and a very well-placed focal figure, that I am surprised that it has taken you so long to share it! The wet pavement acts in your favour, generally reflecting the features.

Despite the rainy and cloudy day, the colours are very attractive and well-saturated. The green leaves of the trees and plants and of the roof tiles are very nice, especially in combination with the pinkish walls. Very well done.

Ha, more rain from Hoi An. I've been there a few times and I must say I had lots of rain there too, Ian. THe man in yellow adds a nice touch to the scene, imho.

very attractive gate in Chinese style. Not only architecture is pretty but the whole surrounding as well very well taken care of. I like the well saturated colors.
The rain adds a very original touch here. I am positively surprised that you managed such great shots in spite of the challenging conditions.
