The rains continued in Hoi An and the water started rising . The man on the left sat watching while a group of people gathered on the bridge and others walked in the flood waters beside the river.

Bonjour, cher Ian,
Ce sont les grandes eaux ! Cela ne semble pas inqui閠er l'homme assis au premier plan.
Une image saisissante !

Hi Ian
I hope there were no snakes displaced from their hiding places and swimming around in the flood waters which is what happened in Grafton in 1974. Good sharpness and nice reflections. Tfs!

Hello Ian,
It's an unpleasant situation but a good photo, especially thanks to the inclusion of the seated man. These floods seem to be happening more often and must be causing a lot of damage. Increasing global heating won't make things better.

Gert

Hello Ian,
This would be a scene monitored by the media, with fingers pointing at which political party was responsible for not caring sufficiently for their constituents, if this happened in the U.K.
Yet the guy on the left is a real calming influence as the people wade through the water or stand watching, from the bridge.
It is a very well exposed and composed photograph.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Nothing special, Vietnamese-style. Floods are quite common and not really a reason not to drink coffee:)

Hi Ian,
There was bad floods in spring 2017 and 2019 in my area, a lot of persons have been affected. The point of view is showing the rising water, the details of the trees and of the bridge. It is clear and sharp. Have a nice day.

Hi Ian, an interesting if somewhat disturbing scene which benefits greatly from the position of the man watching from the side. cheers, Steve

Hi Ian,
interesting scene. When we experience floods in Europe people are evacuated or in panic run around to save their belongings while here we see a guy almost enjoying the view. I suppose people are used to it.
The question of course remains how high the water lever rises. If you are certain that you can walk back than it is fun but what if it becomes too deep to walk?
Great street scene,
M

Hello Ian,
Excellent capture! I like the relaxed attitude of this chap! No matter what, one should keep its cold blood!

Ian, this man is sat on a concrete platform. He is watching the flood, it is a spectacle and a disaster at the same time. Fine colors, good sharpness, regards.
