One of the most famous attractions in Hoi An is the Japanese covered bridge. When the bridge was built in the early 18th century (it was opened in 1719) Hoi An was a trading town with lots of Japanese and Chinese traders. The bridge was built to link the Japanese and Chinese quarters.
In the workshop is a slightly noisy photo taken in the covered area where there is the entrance to a small museum.

Hi Ian,
It has that time-worn look of a bridge that's been there for centuries. The photo has come out well despite the cloudy conditions, with good natural colors. I like all the ornate sculptures on the roof.

Hello Ian,
I think you had to push the colours and contrasts quite a bit because of the dull weather, but the result is quite stunning. The red details, the green leaves and the brown water really stand out against the grey clouds, and we also get a good look at the fine details of the bridge. The other photo is well composed and very interesting, and for a WS the noise doesn't matter much.
Best regards,
Gert

Hello Ian,
I read about this bridge but can not remember already have seen such a colourful picture of it and up close too.
Wonderful roof with many decorations.
Plants seem to grow in impossible places.
I like the picture of the covered part of the bridge with its many pleasant warm tones.

Hi Ian,
I appreciate the reflections on the water. The point of view is showing the details of japanese covered bridge. The cloudy sky is giving a good contrast to the colors of the picture. Have a nice day.

Hi Ian,
Beautiful design of this bridge. So elaborate. I see the weather was quite challenging but your processing managed to emphasize the colors and make it eye pleasing.
Also nice scene in the workshop with the lady welcoming visitors at the entrance.
Great reportage,

Hello Ian,
This is a very attractive, almost ornate, wooden bridge.. I like the details of the roof decorations and the fact that it appears to be standing on thick stilts, rather the usual sort of arches that we see on bridges.
I particularly like your photograph from the interior! It is so very different from most photographs that we see. The wooden supports, the colours and the oriental decorations, excellent details!
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Ian,
This old bridge is beautiful. From this POV it looks more Chinese than Japanese to me, but the WS photo shows the Japanese lanterns. The colors of the bridge really stand out against the muddy water and cloudy sky. Take care!
