Photographer's Note
Lamanai is a Maya archaeological site discovered in the heart of a lush forest only in the 70s. Here, the view of the imposing pyramid temple dedicated to the Jaguar, a symbol that holds a good place in Mayan mythology. He embodies, among other things, a spiritual force that is endowed with shamans who thus have the power to come into contact with the spirits.

Hello Jean,
It's an impressive site and you used the trees on the sides well for the composition. The persons give us a good idea of the size of the pyramid.

Bonjour Jean,
Good scale provided by the couple at the foot of the Maya pyramid. Managed fairly well under the gray sky.
Wish you a nice weekend,
Ike

Bonjour Jean,
Les arbres cadrent bien le site. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails du temple Maya. Il y a un bon contraste entre les couleurs de l'image. Bonne journée.

Hello Jean,
This is a place seldom shown on TE and yet it is full of history! This pyramid is generally different from those seen in Egypt but what a building!
The branches each side give a sense of depth, whilst the figures confirm the scale.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Jean,
A great photo of this ancient Maya temple, which emerges so wonderfully from the dense green surroundings, which seem to be shaped as a pyramid as well.

Bonjour Jean,
Very impressive pyramide. I was worried that during the cruises there is not really enough time to see something else than a port or beach but this shows that you were able to venture deeper into the country to see its cultural treasures as well.
The weather was challenging but the the effect is not less impresive,

Hello jean, It looks like a typical pyramid in Mayan lands. At the moment I do not remember if I saw it. I visited many pyramids in Mexico and Guatemala. Amazing that it was discovered not a long time ago. Probably there are more such places in the jungle.
best regards MAlgo

Hi Jean
I know that Belizean vegetation.
Nice green tones in the grass and foliage.
The pyramid is typical of that Mayan region.

Hello Jean
The tourists at left are essential for scale. Good sharpness and a pleasant diffused light. Well framed and composed using the rule of thirds. Tfs!

Bonjour Jean,
