Photographer's Note
A view of the Capitol of Havana that I like very much, for its monumentality (which reminds me of a heroic photograph of the Soviets), where you can see the two statues, the staircase and the columns. A building constructed in 1929 under the direction of the architect Eugenio Raynieri. The central portico, the one in the photo, is 36 m wide and 16 m high. It is supported by 12 Ionic granite columns. The three doors of the main entrances to the building are located in this space, as well as a set of marble bas-reliefs made by Angelo Zanelli, the same Italian artist as the statues in the front: The Tutelary Virtue of the People (right) and The Work (left), each 6.50 m high.
