The Falcon Has Landed, a photo from La Habana, West

Photographer's Note

As I said in one of my early postings , I took a lot of pictures of cars in Cuba. The old US cars there are now recognised there as part of their heritage. This is not only because the staggering number of preserved pre 1959 US cars there have effectively turned the whole country into the world's largest motor museum, and a living museum at that, but also because it was the post revolutionary political/economic situation was created the phenomon.

This Ford Falcon was spotted in a side street just south of Centro. What I think is intersting is the trouble that's been taken to maintain all the bits of chrome in the appropriate places, even though the overall state of the car is not all that good.

Tech, just slight crop, left right and bottom. Thought about a tighter one, but the rest of the background helps locate the scene as Cuba.

Makes me want to go to cuba tomorrow. I think you might have been able to get a more unusual angle but the scene is good all the same. Good note too well done.

Waouh, I like these old cars like this one, Richard !
And here the color is incredibly beautiful.
Nice composition and good idea to have included it in its environement.
There is not only the car, but also an interesting daily life image.

A good street documentary. More than the falcon, I like the people conversing and interacting at the back. Good work.

A very clasic Cuban scenery, although this car is very special, and I like it very much. The background is exceellent, with many interesting details. Very well done, Richard.

The state of the wall in the background reinforces the state of the vehicle & main subject. Sharp & well lit.

Your whole picture has a very special mood, Richard! The still in use Falcon is very charming with his red and glittering outlook, but the people and building in background are nice details too. Very well seen and captured!
