Post Office, a photo from Puerto Plata, West

Photographer's Note

Not much to say about this one. It's just an old post office still used.

Just a curiosity: I suspect that the sign on the right has a typo, but maybe it is just a Dominican variation from the Spanish (from Spain) orthography - none of the dictionaries that I consulted has the word "corepondencia"; In common Spanish the right spelling is "correspondencia" (correspondence or mail in English).

I posted a WS with a view from outside.

Hello Jos�,

I like the simple lines, the brilliant mustard-yellow and the black windows (openings) in contrast with the yellow. This is a good example of simple but elegant composition. The note is entertaining, and I believe yo are right � there is an embarrassing misprint.

very interesting idea, wonderful exposed to have the skin of the wall in its yellow well presented. Maybe a bit more at both sides to have those small customer tables complete would add a bit more, but this is more a suggestion as an opinion.
Simple and effective.

So do you go to the bars to get served? Very interesting establishment. I like the way you used simple symmetry here broken only by the signs. The strong yellow is certainly eyecatching and of interest in itself, as anything PO related in the UK is bright red. The PO red even has a colour named after it, as in Pillarbox red (pillarbox = mailbox)
Good complementary image in the WS with the inclusion of the boy looking bored while he waits for his father with his camera. ;D. (You must buy him his own camera.)

Hola Jose.
No hay dudas que viendo tu WS me doy cuenta que hiciste una buena foto con tu lente 18mm ya que consigues una vision amplia dentro de la peque馻 oficina de correos. Esta muy bien captada y el color amarillo fuerte destaca muy bien los anuncios (corespondencia esta mal escrito) y detalles del interior de las ventanillas. Tu hijo se ve muy bien agachado esperando que tu termines de tomar las fotos.
Salgo de viaje para Buenos Aires, Argentina pasado ma馻na (Lunes) por dos semanas, espero que tanto tu como tu linda familia se encuentren todos bien.

Pegando no t韙ulo da janela da esquerda e na tua nota: tenho pouco a declarar, pois est� com uma simplicidade espectacular. S� um pequeno detalhe: o reflexo na placa da esquerda; toda negra ficaria muito melhor.
Quanto ao erro ortogr醘ico suponho que ser� mais que uma gralha; deve ter sido influenciado pela pron鷑cia local.
Ainda bem que deixaste a outra foto para WS, pois aquele EMS moderna鏾 tem muito menos charme.

unusual this post office in the Dominican Republic with the two pigeon-holes on the center of the facade.The saturate yellow is impressive.I have an confound.Why almost the posts have this yellow colours?Do you know?Well done Jose.

Hello Jose! I very much like travel shots featuring the architectural details of a place. This one here is a great study of the bold color used for a building of ordinary purposes. The framing is very tight and the letter openings well placed.

A foto � interessante pelo ponto de tomada e pela firmeza da sua m鉶 que, apesar dos Exposure de f/4.5 e 1/5 seconds conseguiu um resultado surpreendente.

Parece-me, todavia, que temos alguns pixels com icter韈ia, n鉶?

Congratulations with your 200th posting!! I just saw your posting, but to be honest I did not like the foreground in that posting. So to congratulate I'll be commenting on this one! ;-)
Bright yellows! Straight into my face so to say. Good sharpness all over, though someone looking through from the other side would have been interesting. Still a nicely colourful shot of a situation that surely sooner than later will disappear in the continuous urge to modernize...

Que amarelo fantastico (icter韈ia) :), gostei do enquadramento da foto com a porta centrada e as janelas nas laterais , parece uma cena de um filme de cowboys so falta o sherife :)

C'est simple comme photo mais j'aime bien le caract鑢e graphique avec toutes les lignes. Bonne composition et le jaune est superbe. Je suis all� voir la photo ext閞ieure et c'est dr鬺e de voir que c'est affich� en anglais � l'ext閞ieur et en Espagnol � l'int閞ieur, probablement pour le tourisme.

No tan solo la palabra "Corresponcia" en el letrero esta mal escrita, tambien el letrero debajo que dice "Ventas de Sellos", correctamente deberia de decir: "Venta De Sellos"... excelente imagen.
