Photographer's Note
This is a second photo taken in the Botanic Garden in Kingstown. To see the other picture posted yesterday click here.
I managed to get a little closer to the subject with this shot and didn't have to crop down the original as much as yesterday. The technique is the same with a fast shutter speed and wide aperture.
In post-pro I ran the pic through NeatImage and applied sharpening, autolevels and a bit of extra saturation. One tool which worked well was to enhance magenta with variations. This had the effect of intensifying the colour of the flower while reducing the saturation of the green background.

Your results with this semi-transparent, cristal colors are amazing in these shots. Great composition in this one. Hope to see more of them

Very nice shot but the first one was breathtaking so it's hard to come up with words now that would do justice to this one while still keeping the distance from the other one.

Très belle réussite: composition, maitrise de la mise au point, couleurs superbes. Cette photo est, solon moi, supérieure à la précédente principalement parce qu'on voit mieux les couleurs jaune et rouge du centre de la fleur. Les contrastes sont saisissants. Et l'abeille... eh bien elle est là pour faire son travail...
