St. Wolfgang II, a photo from Upper Austria, East

Photographer's Note

Once again, I initially wasn't sure where this was, but the name St. Wolfgang appears in several places in the image. Taken a few minutes before the other, closer image uploaded previously. Taken from a moving boat on a gloomy overcast day, with brief showers and rare patches of blue sky. That's another problem with taking tours. You are stuck with the weather dealt to you. I often used to wait for such weather to improve before moving on independently to the next town. This tour was from Munich to Salzburg with a side trip to Wolfgang See (Lake).

Hi Chris
The low clouds give this photo a good atmosphere. A well composed and sharp lake side photo.
By the way: no blue crayfish (hissing or otherwise) and no leeches despite everything being wet.

Hello Chris,
Slightly different perspective across the water towards the church and promenade which shown on May 1st.
Wider view which shows more of the waterfront houses and their decorative element and style.

Hello Chris,
It's similar to the last one and the lake was just as green. Somehow the grey sky seems to have been good for the colours generally.

Hi Chris,
I lived in Munich for 3.5 years and I have visited Salzburg but I didn't have a car so relying on public transportation limited slightly my options. I didn't have a chance to get there. Bavaria has so much to offer. The weather was probably not optimal here although the fog adds some decorative touch as well.

Hello Chris,

It is disappointing when a trip to an interesting place occurs on a very cloudy day. Despite that, you have been able to gather a some quite sharp, details of this eclectic mix of river-side buildings (the central one looks like the sort of chalet style that we expect to see), with the clouds rolling down the grey mountainside.

It's a charming village by the lake. And this view looks lovely even on a grey weather the pier and church are signature details of this place. Intense green tone of water is fascinating.
