Hallstattersee reflections, a photo from Upper Austria, East

Photographer's Note

This is a view of the majestic Lake Hallstatt, or Hallstattersee, from Obertraun. Obertraun is a small town on the opposite side of the lake from Hallstatt. It has a train station, which is why we stayed there. Also, it's not overrun by tourists like Hallstatt. The reflections were good on this sunny morning, so I had to get a photo.

This part of the lake is surrounded by high limestone cliffs. We had a thunderstorm one evening and the thunder sounded fantastic as it echoed off the cliffs.

Hi Vincent
It is a famous tourist destination and is especially popular for scuba diving. Several villages and cities are located along the coast of a river,
including Obertraun at the entrance of the Traun River and Steeg and Hallst鋞ter at the exit of the lake. It is famous for its early European iron culture, the Hallst鋞ter culture.
The lake is transparent and beautiful.

Hello Vincent,

What a fantastic photograph you were able to achieve on this sunny day! There seem to be a plethora of triangles, repeated as Impressionist examples in the reflections.
I do like the fluffy clouds half-way down the mountains; a fine detail!
Excellent clarity.

Hello Vincent,
A fantastic view of the calm lake, which reflects the steep mountain slopes so well. Also the white clouds and their reflections are wonderful. The shaded side at left adds a good contrast.

You managed to include the top of the reflected mountain in the picture.
The lake shore on the left gives more depth to the beautiful photo.
