Today the victims of the first world war were also commemorated in my municipality
The photo shows the cemetery where many are buried
The collective memory:
All layers of society who, through their personal sacrifice, have borne the war effort梞ilitary, resistance members, and civilian casualties梬ill be highlighted; the transfer to the next generations should be a central concern in this regard;
The joint pursuit of a peaceful future: Over the years, Belgium has built up an international image as a neutral bridge builder, advocate of global disarmament and promoter of the rule of law and of the fight against impunity.

Hallo John,
Vele groeten, Paul

Hello John,
The graves have been suitably decorated with flowers as a tribute to the men who died too young. The long lines of purple flowers on the green grass create a deep perspective and bring my eyes up to the autumn coloured trees.
Regards,
Gert

Hallo John,
Een mooie foto van een van de vele oorlogsbegraafplaatsen. Geen klaprozen, maar wel veel bloemen bij de grafstenen. De herfstkleuren en de wolkenlucht zorgen voor een passende achtergrond.

Most times I refrain from writing about cemeteries, John, but this is the exception: Neat and elegant memorial place for WW2 victims.
Superbly chosen the POV, well presented.
Wish you a nice weekend,

Hi John,
Beautiful image from a war cementery. I like very much how each tomb gets these beautiful colorful flowers. I wonder why all have purple flowers while one only has additionally white flowers.
Great capture and a lovely dedication,
M

Hello John,
I'm so pleased the Armistice Day has lost none of its emotional importance. It is hard for us to possibly understand the emotions that those brave soldiers underwent, protecting their families and their country, in such difficult circumstances. But we are thankful for their ultimate sacrifices.
In the U.K. people are wearing red poppies and tomorrow, there will be poppy wreaths laid on the War Memorials.
Your photograph is beautiful!
It shows the gravestones decorated with flowers in a lovely composition. It is a calm, thoughtful scene.
How I wish peace could be in everyone's heart!
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hallo John
An apt upload for remembrance day. Good sharpness and a pleasant diffused light that suits the mood. Excellent colour and nice repetition of the purple bushes that resemble wreaths. They add a poignant, melancholy mood. Tfs!

Hello John, The military cemeteries are so impressive with the order and they are well cared but sad. such unnecessary deaths of the usually young people. And the tragedy for families. Will ever be a world without wars? But attractive as a photo.
Best regrads MAlgo
