I am back.

Dear TE friends.
I was not present at TE for a long time.
Due to health reasons, I was absent, I was in the hospital for a small operation.
On the advice of the doctors, I had to slow down a bit, so a little more rest.
But again, I feel combative to regularly post a photo on this site.
But I'm starting from my archive because Covid-19 doesn't really allow it to just walk among people in the city of Bruges or Ghent
However, I am fully vaccinated
We all hope the best and wish you all good health.

BRUGES. ARCHIVE 2006

Groenerei
All those lovely canals are all pearls, but the most beautiful is undoubtedly the Groenerei. One of the most charming places in Bruges. Neatly lined with a beautiful skyline, with enough greenery to completely relax and here and there you spot a romantic bridge. So nice to stroll along the water. Install yourself on one of the benches by the water and enjoy extra-long.

Salut John, je suis tres content de te retrouver ici apres tes problemes de sante', tout est OK maintenant et c'est la meilleure chose!! Une belle memoire depuis les canaux brugeois,vraiment elegante et beau dans une capture parfaite! On est vaccine' et on peu essayer quelque sortie maintenant, mais il faut toujours faire attention. Blij om te horen dat het inmiddels weer beter gaat. Een prachtig zicht op het water hier dat omringd wordt door mooie bakstenen gebouwen en het kleine ronde huisje in het midden.

Welcome back to TE. I thought you had got tired of the site after almost 18 years. It is worrying that you had been ill, bit I am glad to know you are feeling better. This is truly a photo in your style. The view down one of the canals of Bruges is well known but the persons walking along the river give the photo a special atmosphere. Beautiful colours and light as usual.

Welkom terug op de TE-site!
Velen hebben naar je foto's uitgekeken. Ik hoop dat je het heel goed stelt en begrijp dat je voorlopig nog uit je archief wil putten. Daar zitten ongetwijfeld nog heel wat prachtige foto's in.
Ik veronderstel dat je deze vanop de Peerdenbrug nam.
Het witte octagonale gebouw met zijn vensterluiken aan de waterkant heeft me steeds ge飊trigeerd maar ik vind niet wat het eigenlijk is.
Je nam de foto bij stralend weer en de witte kleur van het kleine gebouw weerspiegelt mooi op de donkere golven.
Helemaal links krijgen we enkele prachtige trapgevels te zien terwijl op de kade rechts een aantal wandelaars meer leven in het beeld brengen.
Prachtige zomerse foto, scherp en helder gebracht en in een aantrekkelijke compositie.

I can't believe this picture was taken 15 years ago. As usual, it has your 'Stamp' on it.
My favourite city , BRUGES ! maybe I'll go back one day.
I just love the 'old charm' of this city.....exactly what I see in this picture. I notice a small 'balcony' with beautiful flowering plants and roses on the wall by the canal. Amazing blue sky and sunlight. A perfect summer day.

You were certainly missed!
Good to hear that you are on the way to recover.

I'm glad to see you again! I, for another reason, came back here after 6 years. I was surprised at how many people left here. I do not know why.

Good healing!

I was in this "fairytale city" and in Ghent as well. Both places are very photogenic and also amazing.

It shows your work, one of the beautiful details of the ordinary city, the one that is real. Nice detail, in the middle of the picture is that little white building, though I don抰 know what function it serves.

Good vantage point and nice colors.

Hello John,

How good to see you back from your hospital visit and sharing your photographs on TE again.

This photograph, from your favourite Bruges, is very well composed, using the canal as a very effective guide, taking viewers from f/g into the b/g, with lots of opportunity to appreciate the buildings, the figures, and the reflections!

I noticed that you were gone for a while from TE, and I'm glad you are well enough to come back. This is a beautiful view, with a lovely, blue sky. There is a nice balance between the house on the left, and the four people walking on the other side of the canal. Take care!
