New bicycle path along the canal.

From March 2021, The Flemish waterway will be renewing 4.2 kilometres of the towpath along the Schipdonk canal van de Leie in Damme. There will be a new asphalt pavement at two locations along the bicycle highway between Knokke-Heist and Eeklo.

Activities

The towpath along the Schipdonkvaart-West between the Oostkerkebrug and the Siphonbrug and along the Schipdonkvaart-South between the Platheulebrug and the Molentjesbrug will receive new asphalt. This concerns two zones of 1.7 and 2.5 kilometers respectively. Foundation works are also carried out in places where it is necessary. All the works are now done and it is really nice to cycle see the attached photo

Every object in strait lines, John: The paved trail, the rows of trees and the canal. How typical.

Hello John,
A very good photo of the new bicycle road between the lines of trees next to the canal. It is of course the person in the bright coat that makes this composition so perfect, but the shadows on the road are also very nice. As usual the trees and fine sharpness create very good depth, and as usual the photo is very well exposed.

Hallo John,
Zowel het kanaal als het nieuwe fietspad leiden ons dieper in de foto naar de horizon.
Links zien we de weerspiegelde boomstammen in het water; rechts vallen de schaduwen van de bomen schuin over het fietspad.
Prachtige natuurfoto met de dame op de fiets als de kers op de taart.

Wow! As a cyclist myself, this new bicycle path along the canal is like 'heaven-made'.
It's very very long and quiet , I could cycle and cycle enjoying the view of the countryside without worrying I might bump into someone or another cyclist.
As usual, this is an excellent composition and sharpness.

Hello John,
It's nice that you captured a cyclist on this path. The tall trees create a nice vanishing point in the distance, and I like the canal on the side, too. It must be chilly in Belgium if the girl is wearing a coat in August! Take care...

The trees so tall make an attractive alley and repeated motif for photographer.
