After almost two years, because of corona, I was able to visit an old friend in Diksmuide to the river Yzer

History:
The Yser (French: Yser) is a river in West Flanders (Belgium) and French Flanders (France). It is the shortest of the three Belgian rivers that flow into the sea (the other two being the Meuse and the Scheldt) and the only river that flows into the sea on Belgian territory; the Scheldt and the Maas flow into the sea in the Netherlands. The total length is 78 kilometers, 45 of which in Belgium. The Yser is located in the Westhoek. The area between the Yser and the coast, west of the river, is called Bachten de Kupe (behind the cockpit). The Yser enters Belgium in the smuggler's village of Haringe and flows into the sea in Nieuwpoort.

Hello John,
There are some nice boats here, and on both sides of the canal we see trees with fine autumn colours. The length of the quay has created fine depth with good assistance from the well processed clouds.

Hello John,

As always, you have chosen a fine viewpoint, using the converging lines of the river as a strong guide into the b/g. You have created an excellent sense of perspective by way of the diminishing trees and boats.
This looks like quite a modern area, with bungalows and high-rise apartments.
Was this an area which suffered in the World Wars?

Hello John, what a beautiful sky, it is the perfect backdrop to this picture of the river.
The trees are showing their autumn colours and provide leading lines towards the horizon.
The boats add interest too.

lovely harbour capture. For me the real highlight here is the charming sky, so neatly decorated with the pleasant clouds with some blue touches of the sky are visible behind.
The vegetation leaves no doubt that it is autumn.
Very well saturated colors of nature.

Opvallend hoeveel plezierbootjes er aangemeerd liggen.
Mooi licht en aantrekkelijke kleuren.
