Taken during a visit at Bruges 2007

History of a part of the street
Basic building up until the 16th century. At the time of Marcus Gerards (1562), densely built-up street, scarcely cultivated towards the street end. Present, heterogeneous development of both houses with stairways and gables and wide houses with gables and also varying volumes of two to four bays and one to two and sometimes three storeys under pans saddle or hipped roof. Major building activities in the course of the 17th century, but few original fa鏰de revolts, among other things as a result of 18th and 19th century adaptations, historicizing restorations and the replacement of gable and stepped gables by gables.
