2015 - Bike trip Maldegem Kleit you can see the nice old farm.

From the 16th to the middle of the 18th century the domain was transformed into a leasehold, but with little success given the mediocre quality of the cultivated land. In 1756 the farm, as it existed until recently, was erected and the extraction of wood and peat was started successfully. The French Revolution marked the end of this activity.
In the 20th century the farm - as a farm - was operated by the Bottelier-Dhaenens family and when the only two remaining sons died in a traffic accident on the N44 in 1999, this was the end of the exploitation.
The restored central building was erected in 1756 approximately at the place where the former chapel with its turret stood. It was already out of use at the time and served as a shed and later as a home. In 2007 it got its current view.

Hello John,
It's a nice but relatively plain view, but there is no doubt the colours are something out of the ordinary. I love the contrasts of the dark blue pond, the very green grass, the white walls, the red roofs and the mild blue sky. Add to the the very nice reflections, and you managed another excellent photo.

This is a very beautiful photograph from your archives.
The farm makes a very good focal point, especially as there are two buildings to help create a good sense of depth. The cream and red colours are eye-catching and we get a double dose as the main building is nicely reflected in the pond.
There are some lovely details of trees and waterside plants, all adding to the attractive nature of the scene.

John, one can discover many curiosities during a bike trip. That very old farm has been restored yet, it is surrounded by a pond, a footbridge and green lawns. What a nice setting! Perfect sharpness
