Damme and surroundings.
But light rain and fog formation prevent me from getting a nice connection with the heavenly colours.
This photo was taken in the afternoon.
But keep enough distance with Covid-19
This canal Bruges Damme always has a lot of viewers and many times a photo is taken like me now.
(Better if opened in a new tab to see the larger version.)
I hope you like it

Hallo John, the pov used provides an excellent depth as usual. The reeds growing on the edge of the canal were dried and golden during this season. A countryside road is going along the canal whereas the opposite bank is occupied by constructions. Fine colors, good sharpness, interesting photo note, regards.

Hello John,
The dull weather certainly didn't spoil the colours. They have beautifully mild tones, maybe even looking better than in a bright light. The town looks very picturesque on the other side of the canal and is perfectly reflected. As always you captured a very good depth, thanks partly to your bicycle parked a short distance down the road. You did well to capture the various grey nuances of the clouds. It could easily have become a photo without any sky at all.
Best regards,
Gert

Hallo John,
Vele groeten, Paul

Hi John,
The length of the canal and of the path is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details of the houses and of the trees. The colours and the sharpness are very good. Have a nice day.

Hallo John,
De lichte regen en mist zorgt ervoor dat de lange vaart, de groene lentekleuren van de bomen en de huizen aan de andere kant van het water mooi vanuit de waas naar voren komen. De compositie is uitstekend opgebouwd en in balans.

Hello John, yes, even better in the large version.
The grey sky doesn't spoil the scene at all, we have the different greens of the grass and the trees, plus the different shapes of the houses and their reflections in the canal.
Very good sharpness right to the vanishing point.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hello John,
As I always believe, light rain can actually enhance colours, making them more saturated, so it can sometimes quite enhance a photograph. And I think that is the case here. Yes, the sky might be a bit dull and overcast but the colours of the trees and grass and even the houses across the canal are wonderfully rich.
A well composed photograph with the line of the canal leading the eye nicely through the frame. Nice too that you have included your trusty bike!
Beautiful!
Kind Regards,
John.

Hello John,
This was so recognisable as your photograph, even in the thumbnail.
The long perspective of canal and riverside houses, edged by trees, is almost like your own signature, done to perfection.
The weather was grey but it has not impeded your ability to capture the delightful scene with clarity. Though the sky is grey, it is not without features and creates an unobtrusive b/g against which to show the details.
I have to ask ... is that your bike?
Keep safe,
Bev :-)

Hi John
Lovely work on a grey day that gives us glimpse of this rural scene, and lovely long canal and line of houses. The range of colours does steal the eye boosting its general view greatly
Nice grab.

Dag John,
Goed weekend, Rob
