A heavy thunderstorm came during minor work at the cemetery
I took a picture of it

MALDEGEM
Maldegem Cemetery is a municipal cemetery in the Belgian municipality of Maldegem. The cemetery is located 630 m east of the centre (Market), along the Katsweg. The oldest part dates from 1873, but was expanded in 1903 with the underlying plots. In 1944 and 1973 it was expanded again, but this time in an easterly direction.

The cemetery is on the Inventory of the Architectural Heritage

Hello John,
Thunderstorms look great in photos, when you are safe from the winds and the rain. The dark clouds create a perfect background to the view of the cemetery and provide a very good contrast to the many green trees and hedges. The cobbled street creates fine depth towards the buildings in the background, but this picture is mainly about the contrast of grey and green. The photo is very clear and quite bright in spite of the limited light. In Stockholm it has been raining without stop since yesterday evening.

Hallo John,
Ook de donkere wolken zorgen hier voor een mooie achtergrond, vooral in combinatie met de vele groene tinten van de heggen en bomen die tussen de graven op de begraafplaats staan. Mooie compositie met het pad in het midden.

The length of the alley is creating depth. The point of view is showing the details of the cemetery. The cloudy sky is givng a good contrast to the colors of the picture. Have a nice day.

Hello John,
The cloudy sky creates a really strong mood, and I can feel the rain in the air. The trees and hedges are all so neat, and the cobblestone walkway leads our eyes into the distance. It's a lovely scene. Take care!

The cemetery in Belgium is very clean and tidy like a garden. I think the families of worship will visit in a more solemn atmosphere. In Korea, most of them are cremated in crematoriums for their descendants' space.

Hello John,

The heavily pruned trees either side have sprung to life with the warmer weather. The path leads the eye towards the 2 red roofed buildings in the bg. Tfs!

Hi John,
beautiful place. It sounds maybe ironic to say that a cemetery is beautiful but it is really a lovely place and very inviting to have a walk around.
I like the contrast level here. In spite of the challenging light the colors are so well saturated and the scene seems well lit while the sky has string features and darker tones.
It all feels three dimensional.

Hallo John,
Woningen die uitkijken op het kerkhof. Dat komt natuurlijk voor wanneer het kerkhof in het centrum van de gemeente gelegen is.
Hagen en bomen verdelen het kerkhof in kleinere percelen. Mooi gedaan.
Ik denk dat je je moest haasten op de foto te nemen wilde je niet door een regenbui overvallen worden.
Uitstekend helder en scherp beeld.

Most times, John, I refrain from writing about cemeteries pictures. But this picture was well made considering the heavy clouds, low light condition and the meticulous cared garden we see here.

In these cemeteries so well cared for, with trees, shrubs and grass, they inspire us less sadness, I even like to walk their tranquility, threatening rain sky.
