Hello John,
You couldn't see the Dutch tulip fields this year, but the Belgian poppy fields look just as good, and much more natural. To me poppies are the most beautiful flowers, often growing in very simple places like along roads. In this photo there is instead a road along a poppy field. The red and green tones are very beautiful and the road gives depth and a nice structure to the photo.
Next week I will get my second vaccination, but I think it will take a long time before I feel safe again.

Het is een heel mooi gezicht hoe de vele rode klaprozen het groene veld bespikkelen. Ook de rest van het landschap ziet er prachtig uit op deze zonnige dag.

Hello John,

The red poppies are a familiar sight to Australians due to the remembrance on the 11 November every year of soldiers lost in Belgium in WWI, at places like Flanders, Passchendaele and Ypres, and Amiens / Pozières in north France. The blood red flowers might be disappearing from Flanders but no such problem here where they form a veritable carpet. Good sharpness and the road at left adds linear perspective. A photo I found explaining the Pikedale soldier settlements around Amiens in Queensland below. Returned soldiers were given cash and blocks of land to assimilate back into society.

Hello John,

What a beautiful sight to come upon, on your bike ride! The poppies add a warmth and glow to the greenery of the field!
You have used the road as a most effective guide line, leading to a strong vanishing point.
Are those windmills in the distance, or wind turbines?

Hello John, a beautiful shot of the fields with the dazzling red poppies.
I like the road leading from the corner that takes us to the heart of the scene.
So many poppies, in the distance it looks like a red haze.

Hello John,
Fields of poppies are as exciting as tulip fields. In Turkey, very rarely, we would see yellow versions of these poppies. Do you have them over there, too?
