慘ortrijk - The Wonderful World of Abstraction

Another work of art that I saw at 'Paradise Kortrijk 2021' is one of the artist Jacob Dahlgren (1970, Sweden) who graduated in 1999 from The Royal Institute of Fine Arts in Stockholm.

You will have to look in the WS to get a general idea of the artwork.
There I show two photos of the work as a whole, each in a different arrangement.

For my main photo I chose a shot of some details taken in the middle of the work.
After all, the artist encourages you to enter his work, to be completely absorbed and to lose yourself in it.
My main photo shows a view upwards.
This work was set up in the beguinage as you can see in the WS.

Vision of the artist:
Jacob Dahlgren invites the audience to disappear into a colourful sea of ribbons.
On the outside 慣he Wonderful World of Abstraction comes to life through people who are meandering in and out of the fields of colour. When entering the artwork, you become completely absorbed and invisible to bystanders.
Paintings become useful objects in his research on how art and our daily life are connected.
What fascinates him is the interaction between body and object. The artist shows us the beauty that is hidden in everyday life.

Materials: Satin ribbons, steel, 550 cm , 400 cm H.
