During my daily life bicycle trip, I saw this Deer
I think that He protection gives to are herd of hinds, I would not go in the meadow, very dangerous.
The fallow deer is larger than a roe deer and smaller than a red deer. The head-torso length is 130 to 170 centimetres and the height at the withers 85 to 110 centimetres. The fallow deer can weigh 45 to 100 kilograms, in exceptional cases up to 130 kilograms. The tail is quite long: 16 to 19 centimetres. The male (called stag or hoe - from Schaufler, German hunter jargon, after the shape of the antlers of adults) is generally heavier than the female (called doe).
Colour
There are many variations in colour, from white through light brown to almost black, but usually the back is reddish yellow to chestnut brown in colour and the belly is yellowish white. However, the dominant colour varies by area. In winter the coat colour is grayer. The fallow deer checks twice a year, once in May or June and a second time in September or October. The coat is usually covered with white spots, these are less noticeable in winter. Certain colour patterns, for example all-white animals, have no spots. In black animals, the spots are rather brownish-black in colour, lighter than the rest of the fur. The rump has a pattern of black and white and a black stripe, which extends to the top of the tail. This black stripe is absent in all white and all black animals.
antlers
A striking feature, which distinguishes it from other true deer, is the hoe antler. Here the ends of the branches are connected to each other by plates. Only the male wears antlers. It is shed in April and May, after which it immediately starts to grow again. The bark skin is sanded off in August and September. The antlers grow as the animal ages. Older males have smaller antlers.
I hope you like it

Hallo John,
Vele groeten, Paul

Hello John,
It's a beautiful animal and those horns are really amazing. They actually look oversized and too heavy, but I have seen similar ones in other photos, so they seem to be normal. But is it wild or does it belong in a park? It is real, is it, not stuffed? ;-)
In any case an interesting acquaintance on your bicycle tour.
Best regards,
Gert

Hi John,
It is a truly impressive angle, showing those big antlers at their full glory. They are very big for a small deer. Obviously it is domestic, not wild animal, otherwise you couldn't get that close.

Hello John,
I suppose that this was not what you would have expected to see when you set off on your bike ride! It is a splendid specimen of a deer!
You have obtained a very good viewpoint, allowing you to obtain a very good close up of the stag, it抯 alert stance and its amazing antlers. There is a fine catchlight in its eye.
We can clearly see the dappled pattern on the stag抯 back, very effective for camouflage.
My warm regards,
Bev 😊

Hi John,
The diagonal line of the road is giving dynamism to the scene. The point of view is showing the details of the fallow deer with the ig horns. The light is giving good colors rendering. Have a nice day.

Hello John,
This deer is so endearing with a staring 'big-eye' ... ready to defend his territory.
It's a good thinking , not to go near him :-)
Those antlers are not to be messing around with ... unless you've a body-armour on.
I do like the blurry-effect on the b/g , making this deer stands out even more in great sharpness.
Again, very seen photo your daily life bike-trip.
groetjes,
Loong

Hi John
Apart from Skansen Zoo in Stockholm, I only saw a few wild female deer, elk, and moose in Europe. You are lucky on 2 counts. That you saw it, and that there is a fence between you and those horns. Tfs!

Did you bring on your bike a bag of apples to draw its attention towards you, so it could show its best profile to the camera :)

Hi John,
What a beautiful animal capture. It feels quite unexpected to see this size animal next to a farm and a road nearby. I have sometimes seen a smaller females but not so much a male with giant antlers like these.
Beautiful work,

Hi John.
Wow .... sensational photograph, what an impressive specimen of deer, its antlers are tremendous, it must be an adult male, you captured it at a perfect angle.
Very effective coloring, which highlights the details of the image.
Good management, both of brightness and sharpness.
Very well done. I like it.
Enjoy this weekend, before Christmas.
My best wishes for you.

Dag John,
Groet Rob

Hello John, a beautiful creature. A magnificent pair of antlers, they must feel so heavy!
It makes me think about how wonderful nature is; the stag sheds its' antlers in April/May, and then they grow again, amazing!
Taken from a very good angle.
Very informative notes.
Kind regards, Jean.
