Ban

In Maldegem it is forbidden for private persons to light festive fireworks. This means that any requests to light end-of-year fireworks will be refused and a fireworks ban will apply.

This prohibition also applies to the release of wishing balloons.

The municipal council has made this decision based on the idea that safety and animal welfare take precedence over the pleasure of fireworks.

What does the law say?
In Belgium, the production, sale and possession of fireworks is based on a European directive and regulated by a number of royal and ministerial decrees. This legislation determines, among other things, which European marking (CE) must be stated on the products and imposes additional obligations on manufacturers, importers and distributors.

Interesantan i lep pogled, lep trenutak, dobar tekst ...
Lep vatromet, dobro pokazano sa lepim bojama, konrastom i uhvacenim trenutkom.
Dobar rad, lepa fotografija cestritka za Novu 2022 godinu.

Dobar tekst o koriscenoj tehnici i elementima snimka, vrlo poucno.

Hallo John,
Geen probleem dat priv� personen niet hun eigen vuurwerk mogen hebben. De zaken gaan goed. Dezer dagen komen massa's Nederlanders vuurwerk kopen in Belgi� :)
Wat een enorm verschil tussen het bovenste en het onderste gedeelte van het vuurwerk op je foto. Fantastisch hoe gedetailleerd en haarscherp het beeld is.

We aren't allowed private fireworks any more either but there are plenty of public displays. A good sharp fireworks photo.

Hello John,
This is a spectacular view, mainly because it is so well exposed. The intensity of the colours has been perfectly captured.
Nowadays I don't particularly celebrate the new year, but tonight I will be kept awake very long because of explosions outside. I am looking forward to going back to normal days.
But Happy New Year with lots of good photos.

Great capture of these beautiful fireworks! I especially like the burst on top; it's so sharp, and it looks great against the black, night sky. I like the silhouettes at the bottom of the frame, too. Have a wonderful 2022!

Hello John, Although such fireworks look nice, I fully support the ban on using them by private persons. The animals have better hearing than humans and suffer a lot. Unfortunately, In Poland, the people do not respect it. My cat must be cared for in quiet.
Excellent sharpness. Great view against the black sky.

Hi John,
Beautiful sharp view of these fireworks. Long exposure with a tripod offers pretty different impression compared to bare eyes. But this looks great. I wonder if this would be better without the street lamp.

Hi John,

A beautiful capture of fireworks. Well done getting two explosions in the one shot. It's difficult to know when to take a shot when the fireworks are exploding all over the place. Perfect sharpness and exposure.
