Photographer's Note

Nesebar (or Nessebar) is a picturesque town in the region of Burgas, situated on a small peninsula, connected with the mainland with a narrow man-made isthmus.
The town of Nesebar is one of the oldest towns in Europe. The first ancient Thracian settlement was called Mesambria, it was founded in the 2nd century AD.
The compact old town is full of monuments dating back to different historical periods. There are about 80 houses in the typical local style, high stone foundation and first floor built of wood. The largest number of buildings date from 11th to 14th centuries.
In these buildings are thousands of shops, boutiques, cafes and restaurants. 1.4 million tourists visit each year Nesebar.

Hello Ryszard,
This is like two worlds in one building: very traditional on the upper floor, truly representing the world heritage site, and very touristy at the ground floor. These days traditions need modern commerce to survive. It's just a matter of keeping a balance. It's a very nice building, and I can see there is more across the street. Light and colours are beautiful.

An excellent photo of this charming old wooden house, caught in a very attractive sunlight. The clothing on display on the ground floor adds some nice colours, just as the flowers in the windows and the orange roof tiles.

Ryszard, that traditional wooden house is converted into a shop for tourists. Clothes for ladies are sold here. Nessebar attracts thousands of visitors in summer due to its location on the Black sea shore. Fine colors, good sharpness, interesting photo note, regards.

A very beautiful wooden house built according to tradition.
The clothes add a lot of colour to the picture.
I've travelled in Bulgaria but never made it to the coast. I heard that Nesebar sees a lot of foreign visitors.

Hello Ryszard,

What a fascinating note about this town of Nesebar - and what a beautiful photograph to illustrate it.

I presume that this building is typical of those in this town and that this one could possibly also be more than 600 years old? The building is absolutely beautiful with its wooden upper floor and red tiles and windows filled with flowers. And obviously the ground floor is now a shop selling lots of brightly coloured clothing which also add to the attractiveness of the place.

I can quite understand how this place can attract so many visitors!

seems like a very touristy friendly town :) Nothing wrong with that. We all need some peace in today's messed up world.
I would pay any money to see the interior of this home upstairs, it must be so interesting and old. great light, great subject, excellent note too stating its age. cheers

Hello Ryszard, when this house was built, I guess that the builders never anticipated it becoming a shop!
The clothing adds lots of colour but it is the upper part of the building that I find really interesting.
Very good sharp quality.

Moje wakacje w Bulgarii nadal nie zostaly odwolane wiec ludze sie ze w tym roku zobacze nowy kraj :)
Mam wlasnie hotel wpoblizu Nessebaru wiec bylaby to zapewne najpewniejsza wycieczka na jaka bym sie zdobyl.
Swietnie wypatrzyles te fotogeniczna chate. Suknie dodaja koloru. Pewnie tez bede zmuszony sie tu zatrzymac znajac moja zone... wiec niewykluczone zei ja to miejsce sfotografuje.
