Great Waterfall, a photo from Licko-Senjska, Coast

Photographer's Note

Great Waterfall (Veliki Slap) at right is the largest of many cascades in Plitvice Lakes National park. Taken close to the bus stop, information centre and main entrance 'E1'. Sastavci Waterfall is either hidden in the gorge or is in the centre. There are SO many waterfalls in this park. There is a convenient shuttle bus service from the secondary entrance E2, back to the bus stop at E1 where I caught a bus back to Split, 200 km+ to the south.

Hello Chris,
Especially on the large version of this beautiful picture we can see how from different sides all the water disappears into the bright green depth. But we also see the long strings of people who want to watch this natural violence.

Chris, this is a splendid nature photo. Numerous waterfalls are flowing from the forested hills and then they form the lakes. I like the different green tints from the emerald to the yellowish. Fine colors, perfect sharpness, regards.

Hello Chris,
It's quite an overwhelming view of the dense forest covering the green hills and the steep slopes down to the emerald lakes united by the waterfalls. You captured this superb light and colours. I imagine you had a better view from here than the people we see just above the falls. Maybe you were surrounded by an equally large crowd that had come to see the best view.

Bio sam na Plitvicka jezera i uzivao u lepoj prirodi, ostala su mi u lepom secanju.
lepa priroda, dobro pokazano sa lepim boajma, kontrastom i dobrim tesktom.
Treba videti i doziveti ove lepote.

This photograph definitely looks better in the large format! It explains why this must be a very popular attraction, with its exposed crags, its plethora of waterfalls and its abundance of greenery!
The colours look beautiful!

A beautiful green landscape seen from a fantastic viewpoint and a wonderful sunlight. The silver tones of the steep cliffs stand out well, just as the waterfalls. Very well captured and composed.
