Fish in Plitvice Lakes, a photo from Licko-Senjska, Coast

Photographer's Note

The amazing water clarity of Plitvice Lake is self evident here. I thought about inverting the image and calling it Flying Fish! The rock flour has given the water a turquoise, almost sky blue colour. Taken from the high & dry boardwalk as it passes beneath some overhanging branches at the top.

Bio sam na Plitvicka jezera, ostala su mi u lepom secanju.
Interesantan i lep pogled, dobar tekst ...
Lepe grane drveca u vodi i ribe, dobro pokazano sa lepim bojama i kontrastom.
lepa fotografija i uhvaceni trenutak.

Hello Chris,
It was not easy to immediately understand this photo when just looking at the thumbnail. "Flying fish" might have fooled some. The water has a rather strange light blue tone, but it contrasts nicely with the green foliage.

Hi Chris,

The view is very confusing - are we under water or above it? The surface of the water is invisible so we have two worlds in one, like an illustration by M.C. Escher. Beautiful aquamarine colours complemented by the green leaves. A great photo.

Hello Chris,
This lake is known for its unique colors, probably due to meltingsnow far away from there.
Extraordinary transparent water picture, the green foliage above makes a good reallity chrck and scale.

Hello Chris,

This takes long concentration to fully understand what is being shown.
There is no doubting the wonderful clarity of the water, with the dark fish easily spotted.
The submerged branches give the impression of the ribs of a ship wreck, great shapes for the fish to explore!!

a fabulous view, with a surreal touch. I liked the intense blue of these waters and the use of the branches. this remind me bonito, a city where you can swim in clear waters surrounded by wild fish and maybe anacondas..
