Photographer's Note

Going down the escalators to the Kongens Nytorv metro station. Motion blur on the background is from the "speed" of the escalator.

Notice the quality of lightning, a good rendering of shape and texture is achieved from well chosen and placed luminaries, not just an uniform and indifferent blanket of light from fluorescent tubes that is so common in places like this.

Postprocessing: look mom - no noise! ;-)

I love this shot, Torben. It has a very cool feel to it. The guy is incredibly sharp and the motion blur is excellent. I love the neon signs, but I have to admit that the spotlight on the left bothers me a bit. Maybe a slight crop? Fun shot!

I love the way the guy makes his entry into the frame. Perhaps with a mobile phone in his right hand? The red and white light signs are fantastic. I can't believe you didn't got that effect through post processing. The red on grey creates a terrific contrast of colours.

Great capture showing the hectic life of Copenhagen - I like the way "Kongens Nytorv" just visible - the blurred fields (without noise - mom :-) great to watch and gives a fine background for that talking man. Fine job Torben.

Very nice shot Torben. It seems there has been a lot of really good shots uploaded today, this is another one. Good, original look and the subject looks excellent against the motion blurred background. Only one thing and that he either has very high blood pressure, or there is a bit of a red cast to this shot. Good one.

where were you standing ? how could you have such a strong grip (was it long exposed to get the back blur?)and the guy did not see you too? many questions...I will write something that might annoy you ; this looks very much like an ad print...what I mean is the quality of course, please don't get annoyed :)..

It has a "waiting" sort of feel to it. Very nicely shot. I like how the man is not fully in frame and that the rest is so blurry. it's the rush and impatience of the West!

Torben, I like much the photo with the composition, the man leaned on the right and great space in front of him. I like the vibration given by lightings. This could be a publicity for the control of a businessman controlling space and time (it is not fuzzy)

the # 1 suggests there磍l be more to come ;)
the minimalistic amount of traditional colors + the game motion blurr X stillness make your image.
the spotlight on the left, some people might feel annoyed, but it磗 a great touch ;)
you mean you adequate yourself to the constraints/possibilities of your cam when looking at the world?

Did you see Jose at the metro station, perhaps? No, I guess he was shooting at the station in Lisbon.

This is a great shot Torben with your companion on the escalator just entering the frame. Add his location to the blur and one can feel the dynamism of the shot. In my opinion noise would have distracted from this image. You made an excellent choice here. And the image does make a nice companion to Jose recent subway shot, which also has motion blur in it. Perhaps its time for a subway theme... ;-)

excellent shot torben! i missed that ons while on vacation to india, but am glad i spotted it somehow looking at your work;-) so you seem to come to color now...? lol

Very well chosen composition and just perfect motion blur. Beautiful "minimal" color rendering.
By the way: my mom also said: "look - no noise!!" ;-)
