Quay, a photo from Southern Finland, South

Photographer's Note

During the same hike along the seashore outdoor trail where I have shown 2 previous photos, I saw this quay, which is waiting for summer and boats.

Rantaraitti is an outdoor trail that follows the southern shore of Espoo all the way from Laajalahti to Saunalahti. The total length of the trail is about 30 kilometres. Glimpses of urban dwellings and lush, intimate patches of nature interchange along the trail, as it winds along shoreline parks, boat harbours and beaches.

The map view shows the place, where I shot this, but the trail is not visible very clearly even in the satellite view. You can see the trail more clearly in this map. As you can see the trail is not following everywhere exactly the shoreline, but the walk can anyway continue uninterruptedly for several kilometres very near the sea.

A most inviting photo. One hardly can show a more beautiful winter's day. This hiking trail must be a dream - especially for landlubbers ;-) You have had a wonderful light this day. A really calm and peaceful scenery ...

The quay gives a good perspective and depth to the shot.
A perfect exposure on the snow and great sharpness on the seashore vegetation.

Un'altro bel quadretto di questo sentiero costiero che mi piacerebbe tanto percorrere! Qui la luce � pi� calda dell'altra e le canne danno un tocco di colore molto bello. Queste insieme al piccolo molo in legno sono i punti focali della foto che cos� � ben congegnata compositivamente. Mi piace il molo in diagonale e naturalmente quella neve immacolata! Ancora un paesaggio costiero che gradisco molto.

Hello Lasse,
beautiful view, even without the boats! Wonderful sunny day :) These colours captured my attention at once even still in the thumbnail, they add a lot to the sunny atmosphere of the day.
There are no boats but all the same it is an excellent perspective view, with such an interesting juxtaposition of the snow and scaffolding in the FG and the distant trees and shoreline in the BG!

By the way, I wonder who walked therein the snow? I can see some small footprints... was it a duck? ;)

Old pier was an excellent choice for foreground. Great winter day. Dry reeds add colour to scene. Look like a very nice hike.

la tua foto � dotata di una stardinaria profondit� e l'occhio viene condotto magicamente all'orizzonte tramite il trampolino in primo piano. Ho la sensazione che l'acqua sia freddina, ma l'atmosfera � comunque calda.

Beauiful, but very cold colours ;) but this must have been a winter day at its best. Beautiful sunshine over the clean snow. And I would expect a sauna when yiu finally reach Sauna Bay!

This is a simple but wonderful winter photo with great colors, sharpness and composition. I like the texture of the ice and those little steps on the snow.
