Portail roman

L'architecture romane est un style architectural essentiellement religieux, caract閞istique du Moyen 耮e europ閑n. Il commence en 950 et se voit remplacer progressivement par l'art gothique ou ogival au cours du xiie si鑓le.

L'閘閙ent caract閞istique de l'architecture romane est l'emploi de la pierre pour les vo鹴es en berceau de plein cintre (parfois en berceau bris�) ou pour la vo鹴e d'ar阾e.

Les murs sont recouverts de fresques repr閟entant des histoires de la religion chr閠ienne, les chapiteaux des piliers et colonnes sont sculpt閟. Le tympan qui surmonte le porche d'entr閑 est lui aussi tr鑣 histori�.

Avec la sculpture et la peinture romanes, elle constitue l'art roman.

Excellent take upon the entrance and its pillars with decorative elements.
Light and shadows marvelously managed, the arched-lintel is impressive artwork.

Hello Philippe,
Very nice capture of this beautiful Roman portal.
Perfect pov and layout as well as sharpness. Good usefull notes.
What atracted me is the bright red color of the doos, which is quite unusual for a chuchs entrance ! But good idea as it atracts the people so much :-)

Hello Philippe,
Excellent capture of this doorway with its intricate and beautiful carvings. Good management of the light and shadow contrasts ensures each side of the doorway is given equal and due prominence. Superb rendering of the colours and detailing.

I like the 3 repeating concentric arches and sets of columns, framed by a 4th set of columns out the front. The open red door provides a strong focal point. Tfs!

Mais il est o� ce beau portail romain. On dirait bien la porte lat閞ale d'une grosse cath閐rale ou la porte principale d'une petite 間lise. Mais c'est fait avec soin, comme la photo.

i like the cut and crop, the presentation. the most important elements of the doorway are highlighted upfront and centre.
love the red door as well, and the empty black space creates a bit of mystery too. cheers

Excellent close-up photo of this Romanesque entrance to the church. The details of the architecture look great, especially in this fine sunlight. The framing by the two columns on either side is very good too. The door itself adds a nice touch of red.
