Photographer's Note
PARIS has become one of my favourite cities over the years. I've visited it many times, sometimes with students, then it's work, but I always manage to get some time off for myself too. Last August I visited it again with my wife and daughter for my wife's birthday. It's wonderful to visit some of the famous sights again and there are always plenty of new ones to discover. That's what a big city is like.
---
THIS PICTURE is shot from inside the Mus閑 d'Orsay, the big former train station on the banks of the Seine that houses the world's most impressive collection of impressionist (pre and post) paintings. Unlike the Louvre, which feels like a warehouse, I never get tired of D'Orsay, though it is worth it to pick out a time to visit when it is not too busy.
This is the view from behind one of the big (station) clocks, looking out.

Goedemiddag Benny,
John.

Hello Benny,
It was a good idea to select these silhouettes of persons seen against the decorative pattern of the giant clock instead of an uninteresting photo of a painting (regardless how good the painting may be). This makes me feel I'm taken back to the days of silent movies.
Regards,
Gert

Hi Benny
What an interesting image. It could almost be from an Alfred Hitchcock movie.

Hallo Benny,

Hello Benny, I recognised the clock immediately in the thumbnails. I posted a shot 'What time is it?' several years ago, please take a look.
The b/w presentation works perfectly.
I like the silhouetted figures.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hello Benny,
Very nice silhouette shot. The people look like ghosts. I like how the light is falling at their feet, illuminating only the floor. Take care!

Hi Benny
It's all about the light ....
and recognizing its potential and using it creatively. With access all areas you had full control of what you wanted them to do. So many photographers would baulk at risking this. This was terrific fun with this superb outcome!
Best regards
